When we were in Jaipur (India) over the Christmas holidays as well as block printing we also saw men embroidering fabric by hand. They were working on a man's wedding jacket and using real gold thread. It was beautiful work.
I have never actually seen the process as it happens. I always see/read "Hand embroidery" but I never knew what it looked like. Gosh. Now even the crazy expensive $100 per yard stuff feels cheap. Thank you for this eye opener!

Yeah it's pretty amazing. And as you cn see they're just sitting on a concrete floor of a warehouse-like room all day.
